Where do our memories go?
when the last of use who shared the day passes by...
Something still happened!
And thus a rememberance of it has to live!
Does nature remember it?
Does the place have it footprint forever places
or are they erased and rolled over by new ones?
Does a photo suffice? a video? a blog post?
Is this our immortality like the pyramids before us
and the ancient tales.
But for the everday man who enjoyed a quite time of peace
under that now vacant tree...
where does his memory go when he is gone?
Perhaps we will one day record every moment and preserve them in a an everlasting medium.
That will make the memories immortal, unforgettable and eternally shared.

Intelligently Artifical
Consciousness can be a burden. Our constant requirement to process our reality can become overwhelming.
That's why we we need pleasure. A way to distract us: keep us engrossed with an isolated object or activity. Enjoyment is essentially 'coolant fluid' for the brain. If we think too much about every minutia of the world, we will essentially drive ourselves crazy. The number of things happening around us that we cannot explain, do not understand, are frightening and depressing are a mountain to ponder. To keep ourselves focused on our little niche in life, we sometimes need to filter out most of the world. The 'ice packs' of pleasure, fun , humor keep us from overheating with heaving processing.
When you flip the channel from BBC to MTV ;)
This is on a conscious level of course. Our brains are constantly doing millions of processes without our volition (insert determinist dissent here). Heart beats, breathing and generally running our 'mind-numbingly'(wink) complex physical processes. When things occasionally go wrong, or get super busy... we get a headache. A signal to our consciousness mind that the rest of us could use some help (i.e. vegetables or sleep!)
Computers appear to have no such burden, they can perform millions of calculation endlessly. Even artificial intelligence is unconscious (As far was we can understand). At a basic level, AI is simply following human coding instructions embedded with the illusion of random choice and reaction . Ryu from Mortal Kombat will 'smartly' hit you with a Hadu-Ken fireball if you hang out at the screen far edge... like a punk. Perhaps as you KO in slow motion the CPU's electrons form an unseen smirk. (but i doubt it)
Nevertheless, even our intelligent machines must be 'cooled', and frequently 'run out of memory'. We would do well to oblige them a small reprise, in between servings of accounting figures, sports scores and YouTube videos of all kinds.
After all, we all need to let of some steam.
